White Pleather Bags

I was sat watching fashion week a few weeks ago and noticed an emerging trend, White, it's going to be big, beautiful clean lines, boxy shapes and textures. I'm really looking forward to seeing a lot of the catwalk looks being worn in different ways for events and things. I've loved white for a while now, if you've read my blog you can see that it's a massive inspiration for my room and workspace. The one thing I've always struggled to find is simplicity, I was searching for bags, but unfortunately they all seem to be quite loud and chunky, I looked everywhere to find a beautiful simple bag which was worth the money. Then I thought i'd love to produce my own, Have a look at some of the photos i've taken of them, I love this clean white pleather, and it's so soft and comfy to carry. I've also put them online for a really reasonable £12, I'd love to know what you think of these, I'm also bringing out a new bag in the same shape in a beautiful powder blue hue.

You can buy this lovely bag from my website HERE for £12

My favourite detailing is the heavy duty gold zip.

Company Magazine, Natalie Lines Fashion Illustrations

Ok Ladies and Gents, the sad time has arrive, it's the last printed edition of Company magazine, and I am truly sad. As i've mentioned before I absolutely adored company for years now, they gave me my first illustration break, and really believed in me, I thought the magazine was going in an amazing direction with unique content and brilliant staff, i'm glad to hear they're continuing online though. These are the latest pieces i've done for them, and I am over whelmed at how lovely they look! The theme was bright bold colours with dramatic eyes and lips, It took a lot of work to get them here and i'm massivley proud with the result. I'm happy to say that you can buy one of these illustrations in A4 for £10 or A3 for £17 HERE. I'd love to know what you think of these drawings as they're a little different to my usual style!

One of the first looks which was due to be published (below) but i had to change it around to feature the pink and blue look instead, I really wanted to show this piece as i really did love the oranges and blues together, As i mentioned before, get a lovely print HERE and pop it on your wall. I think it's so striking with the burnt orange hues.

Make sure you pick up the final copy, it's bursting with beautiful fashion tips, expertly designed and all over lovely! Have you also seen that you can win one of my newest Illustrations? Either Retweet, share on Facebook or Regram to place your entry to the giveaway, Exciting hey!

A few years ago I decided to try and make the whole illustration thing a way for me to make money, it was an enormously scary decision and I was so nervous about really trying to do this as a living. I saw Company Magazinehad an illustration competition and decided to enter, I didn't win but the art director really liked my work and wanted to commission me for my first published fashion illustration, I soon found out how passionate they were about new talent, art and fashion. They took a chance on me and made people take me seriously. if anyone comments on my work it's because they've seen it in company. I'm sad to hear they're going but I wanted to thank them for letting me be in the magazine over 14 times with my drawings. You're going to be missed.

CoCo Chanel Perfume Illustration 7/20

7/20 We're getting somewhere now! It's so refreshing to add something to my portfolio on a regular basis, Also creating new content is really helping with time keeping, creativity and so much more. Don't get me wrong, it can be a massive struggle when juggling other tasks and have other commitments, but the rise in social media and interest has really been lovely. I've been eager to draw this legendary perfume bottle for a while now, and doing this challenge has given me a great excuse to do so, i'm also building up a much stronger beauty portfolio which I've been wanting to do for a while. I may have a break from the beauty products in the next few days and focus on food which is another avenue i'm eager to pursue, delicate cakes, biscuits and cocktails might feature in the next few illustrations. What do you think? are there any suggestions for things you'd like me to draw?
I also have some exciting news to share in the next day or so, i'm bursting not being able to tell anyone!

 6/20
apologies for missing a day, I think all this use of colour gave me a migraine ;) I wanted to draw some lovely pink and purple hair this time, inspired by Katy perry and her love of colourful hair this piece was created with her in mind. It took me the longest amount of time to create this illustration, and i completely underestimated how i'd have to balance my time, especially whilst working on other commissions at the same time. However, I love that it came out so well and the response on Instagram has been really encouraging

Watercolour Lips

5/20 My newest illustration, created with a mixture of digital and traditional techniques. This was a really challenging piece, I couldn't quite get the teeth right, and It took a lot of tweaking before I was comfortable to release it, I was really glad it only took around 4.5 hours to complete though! What do you think of this? are you liking the new colours i'm using in my work?

Sheer Lingerie Print 4/20

4/20 As a fashion illustrator I am obsessed with some of the new trends emerging, one of them being lace bras, with thin straps, sheer detailing and beautiful colouring, they really make lingerie interesting again. I was pretty bored of the standard balconette and other shapes, so i've really taken to this. I've been wanting to draw these for a while now, and having the opportunity to create new illustrations every day has made me made quick decisions and actually take more chances. I've recently set up a society 6 page for international orders, so if you're outside of the UK you can now order my new prints HERE. If you're in the UK then grab a bargain,
Every image from this Illustration series are £10 each.

Accessorise with Turquoise and Gold

3/20 I wanted to draw some of my favourite things, with one of the most lovely colour combinations, gold and turquoise. I've been waiting to try this out for a while now and I thought using it with nails and jewellery would be a great opportunity. I added tiny gold flecks at the top of the nails to create an ombre affect and used deep rusty golds to compliment the pinks. I've added a close-up shot at below so you can see all the delicate rings i've drawn, I love the look of piling up accessories and i've been dying to try it myself, but maybe i have to live through my illustrations for now. Make sure you check out the rest of the set and keep coming back each day.
This print is now available for £10 HERE

How to be a Fashion Illustrator. Using pressed flowers

Hi all! I hope you've been keeping up with my newest drawings and designs, I've been working super hard lately, the good news is i'm going on Holiday in August to Portugal (Faro, The Algarve)  so that will be a nice break! I get asked a lot about my drawing techniques and the way I illustrate, so I decided I'd put together a tutorial for everyone to see, I do things my own way and I experiment a lot until i'm satisfied, the beautiful thing about illustration is that there aren't many rules, It's finished when you say it is, and you can make it how you want to, so keep that in mind, follow what I do or just use a few techniques.

Ok, so first things first, I knew I wanted to decorate this image with pressed flowers (see my blog post on how to press flowers really quickly) So I needed to draw my model in a pose which was pretty relaxed, not too formal and a little interesting, I started my illustration digitally, drawing out all of her body, you may think i've wasted time drawing all of her out and then covering her with petals but you have a lot more freedom to move your flowers around all over the body if it's all completed, if I were to leave the torso and thighs unfinished I may have regretted it if I was going for an asymmetric style.
You wont believe how much of a difference shadows make, if you're into make-up think contouring, exaggerate shadows to emphasise the highlights, I always make the roots on the hair slightly darker and add shadows under the jaw, collar bones and wrists. Once i was happy with my design I printed it out and started to add the finishing touches!

I collected some flowers, here I've used pale pink role petals, when pressed they had a beautiful colour to them, the little yellow ends had a more saturated colour and they pastel pink was very delicate, I also a had a lot of other flowers to choose from as I pressed a lot to see what kind of look I wanted, I overlaid petals, added pressed buttercups and went through a million different kinds of flower, some looked super dramatic and a little over-whelming, others looked very delicate and feminine like this one!

The Purple flowers were too bright for me, I felt like the suffocated my drawing a little, which is a shame as I adored the colours.

The possibilities are endless with flowers, i'd love to create a range of these to frame and sell, What do you think of the tutorial? I'll be adding a video shortly to show you the process! Thanks for reading x

New Skirts and New Items

It's an exciting day! My new fabric arrived and i've been making my new cushions, glasses cases and pouches. I've also got a lovely new skirt from Zara, it's off white and pleated.  It's a little long, so i'm going to take it up to just above the knee.
I wanted in involve some of the things I make into my posts, and especially the fashion side of things to show how they can be used and styled. My glasses cases have been made with my kitty print on them as a prototype, i'm selling them for £10 on my website here. My phone fits in it too, so i'm popping that in there when I don't need the glasses.

I'm working so hard to get lots of products together, i'm pleased to see some of them getting stocked in shops and i'm trying to expand my hand made items so I can try and be more self sufficient. Illustration wise I've been making lots of new prints and working with new companies which i'm really excited to talk about! until then, thanks for reading!

Company Magazine Illustrations March 2013

Woo! It's been a crazy month of work for me, I've done loads, and they're all being released at once, these were drawn very late last year (drawn the same time as the Paris Issue work) These are my favourite drawings so far, They seem so delicate and really represent spring (drew lots of little flowers)
We went through a few outfit changes, added various accessories, removed things and worked out what looked better, I'm really pleased with the final result, I roughly drew out the placement of the products for them to be replaced with the photographs,

Any thoughts on the drawings?

Company Magazine Paris Issue Part 1

Bonjour! I was so excited when i heard Company magazine were planning a Paris issue for their February Magazine, and I HAD to get involved, i was absolutely thrilled when I was asked to create an illustration of a perfume bottle with a french scene involved. I added lots of bokeh lights and made it very dreamy with the use of pastel colours, pinks and creams. It was a joy to make, lots of hard work and refinements but I hope everyone is pleased with the outcome!
A little close-up of the french bicycle I drew. I added hints of gold glitter to pop against the muted hues.

And how it looks in the magazine! I was really pleased it turned out so well and I love the graphic design along side it! The paris issue came at such an amazing time, I was already wanting to go to Paris, I want to sit and draw all the little cafes and go shopping. Hey, a Cliche is a cliche for a reason, right?

Anyway, thoughts on the illustration would be greatly appreciated.
